DEFUNCT. Media Insurgente is a film collective founded in Fall 2005. Our mission is to capture important contemporary struggles for social justice. Our projects have included documenting labor struggle both locally as well as in Latin America, the resistance of New Orleans residents to corporate restructuring, and illustrating the effects of plant closures on communities and laid off employess. We strive to fuse the dynamism of journalism with the power of activism.
